GREY

I have seen the world with my windows closed

It's beautiful, so colorful
The darkness adds to the shade
It's calm, it's silent
The closed pane blocks the chaos.

It's a painting on a canvas
Lifeless, yet serene
It's a deaf man's lullaby
As he cradles to sleep.

It's constant, so perfect
Never too warm, never too cold
It's a cloudless night in autumn
As you gaze at the stars.

But today I opened my window.

The world's not perfect, it's different
Like the people it holds
There's a different noise everytime
There's a different color everywhere.

I felt the breeze, the raindrops in my palm
As I heard the birds rushing to nest
And then the scorching heat pierced me
As the dry wind did it's ghostly laugh.

The world felt weird, unpredictable
But somehow, everything made its own way
Sometimes the clock of parrots made me smile
Sometimes the clouds made annoying faces.

I saw the real world today
I saw what life really is
It's random, it's bizarre
It's beyond the scope of prediction.

But plants find flowers and birds find nest
And earth finds them who are lost and alone
Screams and silence make a symphony
Light and darkness make a spectrum.

The world's not perfect, ever changing
But maybe that's the beauty of it
We change as per our world
And our world changes when we need it to.

My world and I,
Maybe we were always companions
And the window,  under the garb of security
Was just a delusion, a facade.

I am glad I opened the window today.
