Shadow

                        Shadow

There lived a man beyond the land of sun
Him and his silent friend, so I have heard.
Exploring the greens and seeds of forest
And the blues and blacks of the sea
These are not my words, it was the bard.

They walked all day on the weary road
Among the music of silence and cacophony of words
Witnessing the romance of pollen and wind
Fascinated by silver lined magician of heaven
Relieved by the darkness of the road they were heading towards.

Together they encountered the endless war
As the bolts above failed at piercing earth's shield.
Just as their own demons striking hard
Shattering the brick and mortar of their outer walls
But their will forged the invincible castle they did build.

The civilisation made a mockery of civility
As they forced to tame their serenity with convention.
They didn't run, they didn't stand firm
For protest and escape were for shades of grey
Only absolute was their truth, their conviction.

But then time took a leap and  turned its back
Conspiring against their angel of bond.
As one of them fell for the truck of the scythe
And the other just vanished, smoke from ashes
Or was it a plot, to meet in a world beyond?

There wasn't any legacy left behind,
No story to tell, just another life journey.
A walk through struggles, through highs and lows
And yet their dignity had to face vandals
Was it fair, was it right, I ask thee...

Chained

                       CHAINED

For a million years I have lived
Tortured by my own followers.
For a million more years I will exist
Handicapped by the evil grasp of time.

I have seen the plots and twists
As mere mortals defamed my name.
I have been run over on streets
As psuedo-intellectuals stamped over me.

As I stood by the slaves an era ago
They chose to be weak, suppressed.
Only to spectate the loss they incurred
Accusing me to be fake, doubting my existence.

I have seen the great divide, names might vary
Some called it class, others caste.
Sometimes color, sometimes gender, and at times
Just the way they speak.

I have been brutally vandalized, savaged
By the dark, infested claws of ambiguity.
People in oblivion have been crying out
For me in various names, unaware.

I have seen the monks
As they tried to set out my example
They relieved me from pain, I was healed a little
And peace was born from the edge of my grin.

I have been in rise and in fall
As kingdoms, dynasties, flourished and perished
Oppressors opted for oppression
As I cried in pain for balance.

I have been sitting with Science and God
And I have known them to be one.
We have seen humans lynch one another
To prove superiority among the same.

I have been mocked by them
As my name was used to defy my purpose
My life was turned into an oxymoron
Everytime summoning me to reduce me to ashes.

The only place i belong as of now
Is in the balance of law that hands
Held by the lady with her eyes blinded with black cover
Clueless about the changes around her.

But I was born with a cause to fight
And so I will until my weapon of hope is seized.
My name is Equality
And I want to live, and not just on pen and paper.

Intervention

                        Intervention
Dear Me,

You have been chasing a shadow
Running wild, directionless.
Not stopping once to catch a breath
Never worrying about black and white
You just believed yourself to be right.
And you dare not stop now.

You have had your bizarre reasons
Always had your deaf ear to the world.
Hoping someday the screams would fade
And they will sing your lulabby.
You thought things could change if you try.
And you dare not stop now.

Time flew at its own merry pace
People found their space beside you, if needed
Only you help yourself as tides came by.
Headstrong, stubborn, broken but with a smile.
And that's how you walked many a mile.
And you dare not stop now.

You have been pushed from the top
You have been mocked at the bottom
You have been stabbed, vandalized
And yet, you held onto your invisible silver lining
Somehow, you have always been fighting.
And you dare not stop now.

You lost your way every now and then
You have been ambushed in the dark. Your demons howled in bittersweet melancholy
Your fears took shape of terrors untold
But your cape of pretence kept them on hold.
And you dare not stop now.

And you dare not stop now
For your struggles have been mine
And your strength has forged me
Let the world think I am invincible
Just ask yourself, is it possible?
I believe in you.
